For me, personally, the answer is yes. The hardware I purchased is valued at well over $1,000, and given the labor required to earn that money, it was worth doing to build that PC. Assuming you build from scratch (also buy a screen, keyboard, mouse, hard drives etc)? $1000 is a reasonable price for a budget gaming PC.
